A beautiful late summer day was enjoyed by 140 women amateurs at Southview Country Club on Monday, Sept. 19th. After golf, the competitors were treated to special guest, U of M Head Coach Pam Borton, who spoke during the evening program. Borton gave a insider’s preview to the upcoming season, and praised our golfers for their commitment to supporting charity and improving women’s sports opportunities.
Pam Borton, Head Coach of the Gopher Women’s Basketball team and one of college basketball’s most successful coaches, will speak at the 11th Annual Tapemark Charity Women’s Golf Event. Borton has led the Gophers to the Sweet Sixteen the last 3 years, and to the NCAA Championship game in the 2003-04 season. She has quickly built one of the strongest programs in all of women’s college basketball, focusing her teams around strong defense and team unity.
